Today I used Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick – ‘In love with Ginger’

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the late post today but a busy morning meant my usual schedule was a little thrown off!

Anyway has anyone noticed that Autumn officially arrived in the UK today? Chill-y. That’s all I’ll say. To truly get me in the mood, I rocked an orange hued lipstick today from Rimmel’s newly reformulated lipsticks in the Moisture Renew line – which has been a target of many a beauty blogger’s review in the past few weeks.

The shade I chose was ‘In Love with Ginger’ which people argue is a great dupe for Mac’s ‘Morange’ (which I also own). I can’t say it’s a bang on dupe. Mac’s tone is much more brazen whereas the Rimmel version is a little bit redder. However, if you’re doing beauty on a budget this is a great orange for Autumn. It comes out much redder in my photos than it really is so be warned – go see it in the flesh for yourselves first!

I swatched a sample of it below but I say again, it looks really red on here and it isn’t so go check it out in your local Boots or Superdrug before buying and you’ll see what I mean! The formula is definitely improved on these, really moisturising and great pigmentation! I’ll be previewing a really disappointing L’Oreal product in the not too distant future so you’ll get to see how much colour payoff is truly important to me!

Today I used Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107 (Wine)

Morning all and welcome to the start of another working week!

Today there is definitely a nip in the air and Autumn certainly appears to be on its way! Despite holding out over the last few weeks which has seen mild after mild day, I now feel ready to start channelling true Autumnal make up looks – starting with…lips! (Where else for me, really?)

Although I loved the Kate Moss collection for Rimmel as soon as it hit stands and picked up the neutral colours months and months and months back when it first launched, I held off on this shade for some time. I debated for some time that it wasn’t the right shade of plum but on further inspection I’ve decided the more purple shades don’t suit me and the wine stains are much better instead.

So after many months, I went and got it. A word of warning, this is from the matte collection so is much less moisturising than the other lipsticks in the first round of the launch. That said, the colour pay off is so amazing, and teamed with a gloss or balm over the top, it could feel just as slick.

I absolutely love this lipstick, although it should come as no surprise given my love for the Kate lipsticks in their entirety.

Today I used Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick (03)

Image

Hi everyone!Today I used one of the (many) Kate Moss lipsticks I have accrued into my collection. I don’t know if I would call the 03 shade my ‘favourite’ as I actually find some of the bolder shades more exciting but I have to say that this one is a great, everyday nude base which really just enhances my natural lip colour.

I always feel sub-conscious at work about using make up that’s too ‘out there’ so this offers the chance to feel ‘made up’ without feeling like you’re drawing huge attention. I prefer instead to experiment on weekends and nights out with the brighter shades – stay tuned as I’m sure I’ll be featuring them at some point!

As you can see from where I’ve swatched a sample above, the colour is a soft, rosy pink and what I like best about these lipsticks is the texture. They’re really moisturising and have good staying power. I usually finish with a gloss over the top in a similar nude colour but these are easily worn on their own.

This lipstick was from the first collection Kate did with Rimmel and the formula is supposed to be light-reflecting as it is infused with black diamonds. They certainly aren’t matte but light-reflecting might be a bit of a stretch as there is no real shimmer, just a more ‘wet/gloss’ finish.

Kate later brought out a range of matte finish lipsticks with Rimmel of which I have a couple so stay tuned for my opinion on those.
