Today I used OPI ‘Not so Bora-Bora-ing Pink’ nail lacquer

Hi all!

A rainy day here in the UK has got everyone crawling in doors, whacking on the heating and curling up denying that Winter is on the way!

I know I only did a nails post two days ago but I’ve switched it up again. Mainly because I had been after this OPI shade for so long and the minute I got my hands on it I couldn’t resist putting it on straight away!

The pink is not a typical shade at all. It’s so unique. My mum had actually bought it when we were travelling earlier in the year and it didn’t occur to me at the time to get one as I hadn’t seen her wear it. But the more she wore it, I became increasingly jealous and so….ta da.

The pink is pink. There’s no denying it. But it is this season’s hottest colour and the fact that this one is so ‘muted’ makes it a more subtle and sophisticated option. I’m sure I do not have to sell you on the merits of OPI – it’s the brand that all other nail polishes aspire to be like! The formula is great, it has fantastic staying power and this shade is just perfect as we continue to meander our way into the Autumn months.

Today I used Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick – ‘In love with Ginger’

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the late post today but a busy morning meant my usual schedule was a little thrown off!

Anyway has anyone noticed that Autumn officially arrived in the UK today? Chill-y. That’s all I’ll say. To truly get me in the mood, I rocked an orange hued lipstick today from Rimmel’s newly reformulated lipsticks in the Moisture Renew line – which has been a target of many a beauty blogger’s review in the past few weeks.

The shade I chose was ‘In Love with Ginger’ which people argue is a great dupe for Mac’s ‘Morange’ (which I also own). I can’t say it’s a bang on dupe. Mac’s tone is much more brazen whereas the Rimmel version is a little bit redder. However, if you’re doing beauty on a budget this is a great orange for Autumn. It comes out much redder in my photos than it really is so be warned – go see it in the flesh for yourselves first!

I swatched a sample of it below but I say again, it looks really red on here and it isn’t so go check it out in your local Boots or Superdrug before buying and you’ll see what I mean! The formula is definitely improved on these, really moisturising and great pigmentation! I’ll be previewing a really disappointing L’Oreal product in the not too distant future so you’ll get to see how much colour payoff is truly important to me!

Today I used Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107 (Wine)

Morning all and welcome to the start of another working week!

Today there is definitely a nip in the air and Autumn certainly appears to be on its way! Despite holding out over the last few weeks which has seen mild after mild day, I now feel ready to start channelling true Autumnal make up looks – starting with…lips! (Where else for me, really?)

Although I loved the Kate Moss collection for Rimmel as soon as it hit stands and picked up the neutral colours months and months and months back when it first launched, I held off on this shade for some time. I debated for some time that it wasn’t the right shade of plum but on further inspection I’ve decided the more purple shades don’t suit me and the wine stains are much better instead.

So after many months, I went and got it. A word of warning, this is from the matte collection so is much less moisturising than the other lipsticks in the first round of the launch. That said, the colour pay off is so amazing, and teamed with a gloss or balm over the top, it could feel just as slick.

I absolutely love this lipstick, although it should come as no surprise given my love for the Kate lipsticks in their entirety.
